Daley
Last night me and Dean went to see our freind Daley at AMP’T at Sound. It was a really cool night with a mix of vocalists, hip hop, comedy and fashion. Some acts were kinda questionable but overall it was a lot of fun. Daley did a beautiful cover of Maxwell’s Pretty Wings and our only issue was that we didn’t get to hear more!
Other stand outs from the night were Singer Jareth and stand up comic Axel.
Here’s a clip of when Daley sang at Maida Vale to give you sense of this guy’s vocal ability. He also has amazing hair. Nuff said.
Happy New Year

I really hope 2010 is a great year. I have some basic resolutions like to eat healthier, drink more water, less alcohol and work out more. I’d like to up my running in the summer and complete a race – even if it’s just 10k.
I want to have more self belief and drive. I want to push myself to achieve my goals and be more successful. I aim to swap complacency for determination and positivity.
Finally I want to want to be more confident and not compare myself to others.
Cute Etsy finds
I have a bit of a bad habit of collecting jewelry. I own much more than I need and I forget about half of it most of the time. But I just get suckered in by cute adornments. I get most my stuff from markets – usual places like Camden and Portobello. But I also like to get stuff online.
I never really got into Ebay – I just can’t be bothered with all that bidding crap. But I LOVE Etsy. Everything is handmade so it just feels really personal. The seller often writes you a little note and sometimes they’ve thrown in other cool bits for free. So here are a few of the stuff I’ve bought recently.
Bluey
I love him. The end.
Slink’s Fashion tips: Embellished knit (Flair Episode 5)
I’m really proud of this episode of Flair. We had a lot more time and I was lucky enough to have a slightly bigger team, with the addition of a hair and make up artist and a director. I also built some more good relationships with fashion PR’s which was great.
Grant Black – Director and Producer:.My Switch coleguge Grant helped me out alot. He spends most his time writing and ADing on The Cut and his experience bought alot to our small production. He helped me organise the shoot and was a brilliant director: calm patient and really clear. This is the first Flair shoot that I wasn’t directing myself and it made the world of difference to have a fresh perspective.
Thomas Orger- AV producer: Another Switch friend who works on The Cut but mostly on The 5:19 Show. All the gloss of this shoot is down to Tom’s brilliant camera work and editing style. He worked really hard to ensure the finished product was really polished and I love it.
Trevor Klein and Anna Mccleery: My two Slink producer’s exec-ed. Trevor really backs Flair. While he lets me get on with it he’s the one pushing it forward. He goes over my scripts and tightens them up, and generally keeps things running smoothly. Anna makes sure we sticks to the format and has the final say on what stays and what goes. She is Switch’s editor so her support is vital.
Styling and make up: We worked closely with young designer (and my pal) Ricky Briggs. He’s designed for Dionne Broomfield, The Sugababes and The Saturday’s and is currently working as Cherri V’s stylist. He’s got a great eye for young fashion and is really great to work with. We also used up and coming make up artist called Roxy Habibi. She was an absolute gem, I loved the vintage look she gave me and was completely professional, I can’t wait to work with her again.
Lastly a little bit about my outfit: I found this top in Brick Lane on a vintage market stall. It was maked at £25 but I got it for £10 – oh yes! I had to repair it a bit but that was easy. I made my shorts for Reading Festival out of some old jeans and have got a surprising amount of wear out of them since. Though to be honest they were not appropriate for the December weather. I was Freezing! Oh well.
